Burn Bullock - after the fire
The Burn Bullock went up in flames in April. Help us make sure this shocking fire marks a turning point in the story of this much neglected and greatly loved local landmark.
The Burn Bullock was once a coaching inn. It has stood at the heart of Cricket Green for 500 years. It is Grade II listed by Historic England. Mitcham Cricket Pavilion is in the same ownership. Cricket has been played in Mitcham since 1685 - longer than anywhere else in the world. The future of the pavilion is inextricably linked to the future of the Burn Bullock
The fate of the Burn Bullock is in the balance after the fire.
We need your support to help secure a fitting future for this unique and iconic local building, and for Mitcham Cricket Pavilion. Your support will help us to keep pressure on the owners and on Merton Council and other official bodies, like Historic England, who now need to pull together to bring the Burn Bullock site back to life. The Burn Bullock needs to be rescued and Mitcham Cricket Pavilion to be put into community hands.
Please give now to support our campaigns, research, events, communications and activities to help secure the best future for the Burn Bullock, for cricket and for the whole of the Mitcham Cricket Green Conservation Area.
