Burn Survivor, Please help the family of Giancarlo

Hello Family, Friends, and Peers, this story is heartbreaking to share. On February 16th, 2024 the Ramis family received a phone call that no parent would want to receive and this call altered their life forever.

Their 10th-month-old son Giancarlo was severely injured at the daycare he was attending and suffered from 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-degree burns from hot boiling water from a crockpot while sitting in a highchair. He was left unattended and was sitting at arm’s length right next to the counter where the crockpot was, he was able to reach a towel mat that the crockpot was placed on top of which he pulled it, and all the boiling water laned on the right side of his body, which caused burns to 35%-40% of his body.

Giancarlo was Life Lifted to the nearest trauma hospital Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital in Orlando, FL. Once Mom arrived the team of Doctors at the ER informed her that after debriefing Giancarlo on the severity of his burn injuries needed to be treated at a hospital that specialized in traumatic burns and was advised that he needed to be Life Lifted once again to UF Health Shands Children's Hospital in Gainesville, FL to be admitted to Burn PICU.

This event has caused the Ramis Family to be in a state of shock, panic, and overwhelming stress knowing that their day-to-day life has changed indefinitely that day, and they had to do everything in their power to get Giancarlo the proper care he needs.

Therefore, this tragic situation leaves the Ramis Family worried and knowing that the time off from work for mom and dad will create a financial burden for their family knowing that they are 3 hours far away from home. All the travel, expenses, and bills are going to pile up soon for the Ramis Family since doctors have said that his hospitalization can stay up to 6 months to a year due to Giancarlo’s injuries.
