Burn Victim and Family Need Your Help
Donation protected
Gilles was removed from life support early this evening, and he passed on at 7:41.
I will keep this fundraiser up for a few more days, and then pass the donations on to Gilles' wife and son.
Thank you to everyone for your donations and for your kind words.
**An Update to my brother-in-law, Gilles' Injuries**
We went to see Gilles today. When we first entered the room the hospital chaplain met us and gave us the terrible news that we were dreading. Gilles has severe burns to 87% of his body, and his internal organs were scorched so badly that they are failing. The doctor's have little to no hope of Gilles surviving his injuries, and tomorrow his wife and boy have the harshest of decisions to make.
One of the pets ran from the fire, and hasn't been seen yet. He is a young Pyrenees X, mostly brown, if anyone in the Ryder Lake area sees him, please contact the SPCA (they have been notified).
Hi, my brother-in-law, Gilles Charbonneau, was critically injured in a house fire today, 13 Nov 2024. in Ryder Lake, BC. Gilles was air-lifted to Vancouver General Hospital. At the time of this posting, I am unsure of the severity of his burns, but they cover 80% of this body (we will know more in the light of day). His wife escaped without physical injury; my nephew was not home; and the family pets all survived. They lost everything else. All their memories. The house is gone.
I'm setting this fund up to help cover the costs of basic necessities, temporary housing, and eventually a place they can call home once again. Any donations will be welcome.
