Burned Child in Critical Care
Donation protected
Hello,
At 5AM on August 27th, Tiffany heard her son screaming. As she jumped out of bed in a panic, she discovered her son on fire. Corey’s t-shirt had already melted onto his skin, causing painful and dangerous 2nd & 3rd degree burns. In a panic, she doused him in water and called 911.
Corey her 12 year old son, is still in pediatric ICU, unconscious, on a ventilator, unable to communicate with his family. He will require multiple surgeries, skin grafts, & physical therapy. The scars will be with him for life.
Pictured is his back, but he has burns on his arm, neck, chin, stomach & side.
Tiffany, a single mother to 2 children, has the burden of comforting both her children while managing the household. Because there’s no sick pay or PTO with her employment, she will likely have to quit her job to help manage Corey’s illness. (FMLA is unpaid). His sister is already in counseling after witnessing this horrific incident.
We don’t know all of the details, but it’s possible Corey was participating in the “Tik-Tok Fire Challenge”. We are unclear how he heard of this, via school or a phone. The shirt was made of 100% polyester, and melted to his skin. Hug your children tonight, because you never know when their lives may change like Corey’s did. Once a happy and loving child, he’s now an ICU patient. Parents, please be aware of the dangers of both TikTok challenges and Polyester children's clothing.
I have created this GoFundMe for Tiffany. As you can imagine, she’s preoccupied with many tear-filled, sleepless nights.

We ask you that send your thoughts & prayers to this family. If you’re able to donate, all donations will be used for his care, extensive medical bills, and supporting the family during this time.
Please also share this as Corey needs all the love and support he can get.
He’s a fighter, but we need your support, because he has a lifelong road to recovery.
Thank you so much for your support. It really does matter.
