Burnie Arts Bounce Back

Donation protected

Burnie is known as the City of Makers. On the 3rd of May, Burnie City Council announced a raft of decisions which will severely impact the functioning and profile of our iconic cultural, tourism and heritage venues and events. Some will close. Up to 25 jobs may be lost. The community were not consulted about the planned changes. It is vital that the public have a platform to ensure that their voice is heard and that genuine community engagement takes place during the implementation of the council's plan. The money will be used to place advertisements (press and online) to highlight community feedback and demand accountability from council. Your donation will help!

The names which appear on the campaign are organiser Lyndal Thorne and the beneficiary is listed as Heather Wild. Lyndal Thorne is Vice President of the Burnie Arts Council (BAC), and Heather is the Treasurer. Burnie Arts Council Inc art the organisation who are administering the funds on behalf of the Burnie Arts Bounce Back group. The Bounce Back group was formed at a public meeting following the announcement.
