On December 8, 2019 Bill sustained a serious, life-threatening injury as he fell through the sliding glass door of their new home. To make an already dangerous situation worse, Bill has a bleeding disorder (hemophilia) which caused extensive bleeding. He was life flighted to Lakeland where he underwent emergency surgery to repair what they could at the time. Due to complications, Bill underwent a second surgery after being transferred to Saint Josephs in Tampa. After two weeks in the hospital, he was discharged home.
Although Bill is home, the road to recovery is long. He will need two more surgeries to remove the glass and reattach tendons and ligaments. He is currently dependent on a walker and getting in home PT, OT, and nursing care. Bill and Christine have been told it could be as long as 6 to 8 months before Bill is able to return to work.
We are asking that you please contribute to this loving family. They have opened up their home to many families and children in crisis, all while never receiving or asking for money to cover the extra expenses. They love these children and families selflessly. They serve others in so many unseen ways. Now, we have the chance to return the blessing and help their family through their own crisis.
The money raised will go towards his medical deductibles, medical expenses, and household bills to get their family through financially until Bill is able to return to work. This family has been through a traumatic experience, but yet remain so grateful for all the love, patience, and support received from caregivers, friends, family, and their church. They are forever grateful for any assistance they have received.
