Burpee World Record Attempt for Mental Health

My name is Danny.

I’m the owner of Fighter Fit Boxing Gym in Mandurah. I am a mental health advocate. After dealing with my own mental health issues I now devote my free time to raising money & importantly awareness for mental health in our area.

In Australia in 2020 there were 3139 deaths due to suicide (2384 male & 755 female), shockingly that is nearly 9 people per day!!

At our gym we use burpees to symbolise the ups & downs people feel when living with mental health, the fight in your head to keep carrying on even though you want to quit.

As most people will know I have a competitive nature and am always up for a challenge. During class one day we did a 3minute burpee challenge this started the idea of attempting the World Record for Most Chest to Ground Burpees over 3minutes so here we are 3months later getting ready to attempt the World Record.

Current World Record is 68 chest to ground burpees in 3mins.

My World Record attempt will take place at the Boxing WA Fight Night on the 12th December 2021 at the Serbian Club, Maddington WA 6109. You are all welcome to come along & cheer me on.

All monies raised will be donated to 360 health, services provided: psychology therapy, suicide prevention, headspace 360 & national psychosocial support.
