Bush 1st Period Ethnic Studies

Central Catholic High School invites you to witness the Power of Change! Donate between February 10th and February 21st to help those in need experience hope, kindness, and compassion!

All proceeds received by Friday, February 21st at midnight will benefit the Central Catholic Schnitzer Cares program, service immersion trips, and the victims of the LA Fires.

By partnering with the Schnitzer Cares program, donations of $50 or less will be eligible for an INCREDIBLE $10 to $1 gift match by the Harold and Arlene Schnitzer CARE Foundation up to $30,000!

Central Catholic students have been chosen to participate in the Schnitzer Cares Program, an initiative that allows them to engage directly in a grantmaking process that empowers them to use their passions and voices to make change . As part of the program, students collaborate to identify a specific service area to focus on, and this year they have chosen Mental Health. Beyond selecting a focus area, students will have the opportunity to interview nonprofit organizations making a meaningful impact in this field. Ultimately, they will decide on one or two organizations to receive a portion of the funds raised from the Power of Change.

In addition to granting money to nonprofits supporting the mental health crisis in the Portland metro area, the Power of Change will also help fund and support Central Catholic students participating in service immersion trips to the Dominican Republic through Education Across Borders. Your donation to the Power of Change will help provide students with opportunities for personal growth, faith in action, and meaningful community impact.

The recent Los Angeles wildfires have devastated communities, leaving many families in urgent need of assistance. Your generous donation through the Power of Change will help provide essential support to those affected, helping them rebuild their lives and find hope once again.

To reward participation in our First-Period classes, we will offer a fun incentive for the class with the highest participation in the Power of Change. The winning class will earn the choice of a private Chipotle or Shake Shack lunch, and the winning teacher will receive dinner of their choice for their household!
