Buster's Freedom Flight - A Furry Redemption Story
Donation protected
Hi, I volunteer as an Adoption/Foster coordinator with a Sheepdog Rescue Organization based in Texas. Our rescue was tagged in a Facebook post about an Old English Sheepdog in rural Georgia who was dumped at Christmas by his previous owner. Buster sat overlooked at the shelter and made it to the Euthanasia list. Buster didn't understand why his owner had given up on him and was very anxious / reactive in the shelter. By kind providence, I was able to connect with a local fellow OES lover who didn't want to see Buster put down so together we joined forces and 1 hour before Buster was to be put down, I completed the paperwork and the foster picked him up for his second chance at life. Buster is so loving, already knew commands and while he was nervous around other dogs he just needed some confidence and training. It was clear he had been abused and would cower around males. He has spent the last 2 weeks at K9 Offleash Training Camp in Knoxville, TN. He has become a new dog who loves everyone, wags his tail non-stop and has made many new furry friends. We have found Buster's furever home and he will go onto become a service dog to a couple with medical needs located in New England. Unfortunately, our rescue does not cover transport costs so I am fundraising to cover Buster's FREEDOM FLIGHT from Knoxville, TN to Boston. Buster will be transported by a K9 handler and a friend in rescue who has a heart for animals who have escaped death row and gone onto become Service Animals. Thanks for reading this & for helping our furry friend in his new life! Sarah B. Heck
