BUT GOD. For more than a year, the Pennington family has walked a journey no one ever wants to: Cancer and the loss of their dearly loved husband and father.

In January 2023, Ryan was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer (Adenocarcinoma Esophageal) with an overwhelming 6 month prognosis. From the initial diagnosis to the moment he left us to be completely healed with Jesus on May 12, 2024, Ryan, Tanisia, Mikaela, and Riley claimed their strength and victory with "But God".

There is no better insight of this family's journey and faith than Ryan's own words.

"I have often said that no matter the outcome of this journey, I have already won! I have won because Jesus has already claimed victory over death and the grave! But not just because of that, but because I claim that He is the Son of God, The Messiah, And my Lord and Savior. Because of that, my hope is secure. Should the cancer one day, take me, I still claim victory over it, because of the eternal life that God has so freely offered to me through His Son Jesus!

One day soon, the prize will be reality for me and I am at peace that my Great God will continue to work miracles in my life until that day!
