But You Don't Look Autistic!

Donation protected
Autistic women today need your support.

We face a constant dismissal, ignorance, and bullying.

We need to hear such statements on a regular basis:
"no, you got nothing"
"no, you are fine"
"but you are not stupid"
or the worst one:
"You don't look autistic."

Therefore we don't usually get support we would need so much.

We suffer a lot in silence, alone
We are misunderstood
We are not heard and not seen

Our limitations in everyday life are very real and usually, we don't get help.

  • It is uncommon for autistic to get financial support
  • to get the right medical support - we dont "look" like something is wrong so we get sent home
  • to get coaches who help with everyday things
  • and even our psychologists may deny that we have any kind of disability

We have to ask friends and family who often enough - sadly - don't even understand or don't see a problem because we look normal in public.

Autistic females are still:
  • less likely to get diagnosed
  • less likely to be seen
  • less likely to be supported
  • less likely to get help

Interview portraits of autistic women on Youtube
Therefore I asked autistic women to come to my Youtube channeland speak about our struggle. I want to make our struggle visible and share with other women how it feels not to be heard with a serious disability.

In these interviews, I portray autistic women from all over the world inquiring about their struggles and everyday challenges. I would like to produce 10-20 interviews to show that there is a huge problem out there.

We, autistic women, need your support, we need to be seen, and we need to be heard.

The money I am raising here is to help me cover the time spent to reach out to women, the many talks I have online, the video production cost, the use of the office spaces and recording studios, rental cost, public speaking engagements, entertaining the fundraising, travel, spending time talking to sponsors and supporters.

All that would be at my expense which I cannot offer as I don't have a job or any kind of support. Yes, that is the reality of most autistic adults. Welcome to the autistic reality. Let's change that.

If my goal of 5000 CHF is reached, 10% will be used towards building or helping a community of autistic women.

THANK YOU - YOUR HELP IS VERY APPRECIATED
