Medical Expense for Monica Lewis

On May 5, 2014 per the medical advice of her doctor, Monica underwent  gastric sleeve surgery.  Since the surgery she has been hospitalized at least 2-3 times a month. She cannot eat or drink anything without being in excruciating pain. The pain is so severe now, that even when she does not eat she is still in pain. Before her surgery she weighed 323 pounds. She now weighs 190 and is continuing  to lose weight, however it is not because of the surgery it is because she is not able to take in food or drink. She has been so severely dehydrated that a PICC line had to be placed for her to receive nourishment , which had to be removed due to her getting a severe staph infection.  Monica was advised that she would be out of work for a couple weeks at best; however has since lost her job due to numerous hospital stays and will soon lose her health insurance as well. Before the surgery Monica was a fun, happy, free spirited girl. She was the life of every party and always helping and planning parties for everyone. She worked as a youth director at her church and she also helped campaign for politicians. There is nothing you asked her to do that she would not do. This surgery has depressed her to the point of her not even wanting to live. It hurts to see a beautiful woman that was once so full of life and is now down to the point that she thinks she can’t continue on. Her Physicians here are at a dead end and cannot figure out the problem so she needs to consult with the Cleveland Clinic. We are hoping Monica will receive the same outpouring support she has put into her friends, family, and even strangers. Please help Monica get the best care possible; funds will go directly to Monica to help alleviate the medical expenses that she will incur.  Every dollar counts.
