Butterfly Garden Project at Freneau Woods Park

Donation protected
Hello! We are the Interact Club of Freehold Regional Community, sponsored by the Freehold Rotary Club. Our organization, composed of over 50 local high schoolers, works to demonstrate servant leadership within our community, bring attention to local issues, and foster environmental action.

We are planning to construct a pollinator garden at Freneau Woods Park in Aberdeen, New Jersey. This garden will be a beautiful addition to the park, where visitors can enjoy the view of butterflies, bees, and birds among native New Jersey flora. In addition to the 300-square foot area populated by plants such as goldenrod, aster, and baptisia, a nearby picnic area will provide a place for friends and family to gather.

Additionally, the garden will serve as a highlight of the Monmouth County Park System’s environmental education programs being developed at Freneau Woods. This project will be of great benefit to the community, adding visual appeal, educating the local community on the importance of these pollinators, and helping to combat habitat loss that threatens locally endangered species.

We are requesting your donations to be made for us to develop this garden in the coming months. Your generous contributions will go towards purchasing plants, soil, stone, and other necessary materials to construct the garden. Any donation amount would be greatly appreciated as we work to further the cause of environmental action while enriching the beauty of Freneau Woods Park :)
