Buttsy Humanity Betterment Martial Arts & Fitness

Hi and thank you in advance for your interest in reading about my dream of being a proprietor to a Martial Arts and Fitness Club for Parent’s and caregiver’s of Special needs, disabled and Autistic individuals in Shropshire.

My name is Stephen Buttler, a Combat Hall of Fame Martial Artist, Fitness professional and also a father to an autistic nonspeaking five year old boy.

On 6th May 2024 I will be race walking the 22 mile ‘Bridgnorth Walk’, climbing Shropshire’s steepest summit en route but not in the conventional way carrying 42lbs for the full course.

My motivation for taking on the Bridgnorth Walk in 2024, carrying added weight resistance is to acknowledge and embrace the need for mental health support, well-being for parents, caregiver’s of Autistic, disabled, special needs children, young adults and adults.

Research has consistently shown that parents, caregiver’s of neurodiverse individual’s experience more stress than those with typically developing children. This is accompanied by lower levels of adaptive coping strategies due to affects on mental, physical, social, financial circumstances, often alongside severe sleep deprivation.

There isn’t nearly enough provision for parents, caregiver’s of neurodiverse individuals to talk openly whilst exercising simultaneously, for improving mental, emotional health and well-being.

I would therefore like to in a Mental Health and humanitarian driven cause try to raise funds for equipment, in setting up a local Martial Arts-self defence and fitness class-classes for parents, caregiver’s of neurodiverse people to give hope, support networks, as well as something extra to look forward to each week.

It is high time for my target audiences that the ‘Mental Health’ and ‘Physical Health’ world’s collided harmoniously in the truest senses for better health outcomes, including couple relationship’s survival rates and multifaceted health for parenting and non parenting caregiver’s.

In the past I have achieved 13 Guinness Fitness World Records each time raising for humanitarian causes. As an Autism parent, I aim to make a difference towards wider opportunities and enhancing Mental Health, welfare of other caregiver’s, in the hope that their families, children can experience holistic benefits from this vision.

No matter how small a contribution it would be received with the utmost gratitude to make this much needed humanitarian, compassionate intervention a reality.

Thank you, wishing you and your loved one’s health and happiness.
