Buy a computer & build a study room

Hi family, friends & facebook community! For my November birthday month (and Abia’s birthday because she’s my birthday twin & she is seen in the photo out jogging with me and the other girls) I’m trying to help my teen friends here fundraise to finish building their enclosed study room and buy a computer. Right now they study every night until 10pm in two open classrooms that are used for the kindergarten, and most evenings & some days it gets really chilly. This is the coldest part of Tanzania! It’s somewhat selfish of me to help them get a computer because I want them to be able to email with them easily once I leave Tanzania. I’ve been volunteering at the Bright Group, which consists of a daycare/kindergarten and working with the girls at the boarding house, in the Iringa region of Tanzania for about a month now. They are all such curious and intelligent girls and even though their English is not perfect and my Swahili is far from perfect we still manage. The school director Luca is so dedicated and also a geography teacher at the nearby government school where the girls all attend. Abia, Yaqwila, Anitha, Abigail, Rehema, Silvia, Martha, Madam Anipenda and Happy would all benefit so much from having access to a computer to learn on the weekends when they aren’t in school. I’m sure Mother Cooker, Abudwari, Madam Chornyo and Madam Gredis who all help The Bright Group work its magic would also be thankful.

We already started the early stages of building the walls of the study room, and hope to put a roof on soon as the rainy season is arriving this month. If you can donate even just a few dollars, anything would be helpful!!
