Buy a cupcake, save an angry cat

Donation protected
Hi,
My name if Frederik.
I sent an email to my entire company to raise money for stray cat that's living in my house.
One of my collegues shared it on TikTok, and it blew up. And now we're here.

We are selling homemade cupcakes and wanted to use the profits for the veterinary care.
My wife's pretty damn good at making them, and said she hoped for a challenge. Her biggest order was 50 cupcakes and she wanted to beat her personal record.
The place where I work alone has ordered 350 of them...
I guess we're baking cakes instead of going shopping for the holidays now.
I think they look lovely though.

The whole stray cats in my house is a bit of a story but I guess I can share it again.
I bought this absolute dump of a house two and a half years ago with my last dime.
Great! A house!
Sort of. Kinda. Not really.
It's not so good at keeping the rain out. Or the wind. Or Cats, apparently. It's a bit of a mess really.

So, about the cats:
I checked with the neighbors, and they told me these cats have been here for quite some time and belong to nobody.

That's them. The 3 musketeers that scared the living heebie-jeebies out of me when I just moved in.
I was home alone and "something" threw stuff around in my kitchen.
It was them. They tore up the thrash bags for food and made a mess. I love 5 years of my life, then and there.
And that was that. They found food in there once, and never left.

My mother said; Whatever you do. Don't feed them. They'll never leave.
I'm sure she did not get a good look at them.
Look at the top one. His eyes are a little crossed. He's so derpy and lovely.

I fed them. I had to! They were hungry.
So yeah... She was right. They're never going to leave now.

I actually wanted a dog, but my ex told me to take her cat or 'just put it outside if I did not want 'it''.
It's my ex for a reason, you see.
So that's Oscar, my first reason not get a dog.

That's him in his most natural state, preventing all productivity, but being cute while doing it.

And then this house gave me 3 more.
I called them Quentin, Toro and kuttepoes. Quentin had something going on with his feet when I first saw him. Quentin Tarantino also has something going on with feet, so now he's also Quentin. It was funny in my head ok? I actually still think it is funny.
I did just watched Sicario when I found out these felines decided to move in. One cat looked ghetto with his cut in his ear. The main actor in the movie was Benicio Del Toro. Boom, second one is Toro. It all makes sense in my head, I swear.
We will not translate or talk about kuttepoes. At all. Just remember she has a bit of a temper.
Like... quite a lot.

It's been like that for years now. I feed her, give her a place to sleep next to the fire and still...
Attitude for days.
That's her under my nightstand.
There is literally a good chance to get mauled by a feral feline every time I want to charge my phone. I got used to it.

And then I met my wife who also had two cats. (we're at 6 now, keep count)
The musketeers were not sterilized, as that turned out.
Holy shit, now there's 11 of them. ELEVEN.

E-L-E-V-E-N.

The kittens were not feral, got used to us really quickly and were all vaccinated, sterilized and given to loving homes of people we know personally.

Ok.
I lied.
Not ALL of them were given away.
Otto stayed. One more won't make a difference.
We stumble over cats in the dark wherever we go anyway, and the litterbox just spawns turds non stop anyway. I have a garden, but they prefer to do their duties next to where I work, sleep and eat. they're great, I swear...

So. Time to wrap up this novel.
That one angry cat might not be our favorite cat, but that's the issue.
She's nobody's favorite cat. And now she's ill. She's skinny, her pelt looks greasy and she's eating really slow without chewing. Something's wrong.
It's not my cat and animal control won't buy that because she lives in my house. They don't care about the hole in the wall that they all crawl through.
So either I pay for her vet costs or nothing happens.
I refuse to turn my back on this little demonspawn.

She will never let us pet her, she will never cuddle and she will still swipe at anything that comes close.
But that's ok. She brings her babies to us and stays with us. She trusts us to an extend, and now I feel like I need to do something.
That's why we decided to make cakes.
We want to buy a full set of medieval armor so we can attempt to catch her without losing limbs and bring her to the vet.
We more than maxed out the cakes we can make, thanks to all our caring colleagues at work.
One of them was kind enough to share the email I sent on TikTok.
I can not begin to express my gratitude towards her, and all you who want to donate.

I really like animals, in case that is not clear.
I promise I will spend every cent of what you give me, to help them.
The 3 in my house, the ones on the street. All of them, given the chance. The more we make, the more good we will do. As good as organizations are, they also have costs and staff to pay. There is nothing wrong with that, but you never know how much go to the animals and how much goes elsewhere. That's why I promise to you to use ALL profits directly on animals that need it. No middle man.
(I won't use it for our own cats either. All our cats are our responsibility and are treated with our own earnings. We're adults. That's how that's supposed to go).

I won't elaborate too much on this house. This absolute jewel and joy of my existence...
It's in a terrible state and the renovations made me poor. In between making sure the roof does not collapse and having something to eat ourselves, there is not much to go around. That's what I'm trying to say.
Any donations for the stray cats make a big difference to us. Through you, we can help them.

Like I said in my email to my colleagues:
Whatever you decide on doing, thank you.
You owe me nothing.
I owe all of you the my deepest gratitude. (and I really REALLY do).

Warm regards,
Frederik,
The fulltime litterbox cleaner
