We are two local bars based in Asheville, NC: Little Jumbo and Character Study.

Hurricane Helene has been so, so devastating for all of us in Asheville and Western North Carolina. We've all seen some of our favorite places destroyed, we've lost homes, people we know, and so much more, but we have also seen our community do an amazing job of pulling together in the worst of circumstances.

Our team is all okay and unscathed — we have some trees on houses, flooded basements, etc., but nothing that can't be fixed. Thank you to everyone who reached out checking on our welfare! Everyone has been helping dig out, cook meals at the shelters, and support in whatever ways we can.

While the water system is still out for the whole city (and will be for a while), there are lots of boots on the ground and resources arriving.

Friends from every corner of the globe have reached out to us asking how they can help. In normal times, people often say our bars are like the neighborhood living room. Little Jumbo and Character Study will both be reopening with limited hours this weekend.

100% of all donations will be translated into drinks for our local community. Buy a beer, a glass of wine, a cocktail (or two) and help us provide a comfortable place for our community to convene.
