Hello, my name is Wendy, I’m fundraising for my daughter. Her car was bombed with a sparkler bomb early hours of the morning on 22/03/2025. The detectives are working on finding the criminal who did this. My daughter and her son have significant medical issues and a car is extremely important from them to receive medical care and get to their appointments. She has spent most of the past year in hospital for weeks at a time, she has been admitted about 20 times and has had about 10 surgeries in the past year. The doctors believe my daughter has ms and are still testing so she can receive treatment, she also has a growth on her bladder that needs to be diagnosed to see if it’s cancer or not, and that appointment is 1 and a half hours away, due to her health problems she is unable to catch a bus because it’s too painful for her to sit for a long time, with a car she would be able to get out and rest when needed. She and her son live with me as my daughter needs help with daily living, I’ve also had to take unpaid time off work to care for her son and I have no annual leave left to help cover this, and her son has asthma, and the paediatrician believes he may have autism which we are still waiting for a diagnoses, until then he has occupational therapy and speech therapy appointments which we are now unable to get to, taxis for these constant appointments would be way to expensive, and we are now too terrified to live here. Money was borrowed to set up a security system which will be very difficult to pay back. The detectives think this may be a stalking situation because my daughter has been receiving constant phone calls from a private number for months, up to 40 a day, when she answers the play a news clips about someone being stabbed. We are also still trying to recover from the floods from cyclone Alfred as our house got flooded and we had to leave. Her 3 year old sons car seat and pram were also burnt in the car. This is unbelievably devastating for us.
