Buy a Terrain Hopper for Ani George, who has MND
Donation protected
Hi, our names are Becky and Charlotte Young and we are trying to raise funds to purchase a off road terrain hopper for our wonderful Aunt Ani.
She was sadly diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease (MND) at the end of 2022.
Ani lives on the remote Scottish island of North Uist where infrastructure for ordinary wheelchair use is very limited. Ani is a keen nature photographer. Before her diagnosis, Ani spent most of her time outdoors pursuing this hobby. Now that she is unable to walk unaided, the rugged and wild terrain on the island has restricted her ability to get outside. A terrain hopper would allow her access to the beautiful beaches and other parts of the island, thus improving her quality of life immensely.
Ani is kind, generous and charismatic. She is the type of person who lights up a room when she walks into it.
Her selflessness has recently been demonstrated by the fact that, despite feeling exhausted as a consequence of her condition, she has worked tirelessly organising an event to raise money for MND Scotland. It was a huge success and raised over £20,000 which will all go to charity.
We feel that it is now Ani's turn to receive such an act of generosity. We implore you to give us some money so that we can purchase this specialised mobility aide which will give Ani the freedom to explore the outdoors. This will be vital in improving the life of this fantastic person who has given so much to others throughout her life.
In our previous fundraiser we raised an amazing £3715 and were overwhelmed by people's generosity. Despite having a long way to go to reach our target, we closed the fundraiser as we were receiving fewer donations. However, since closing Ani has received several enquiries about donating hence our decision to re open the account.
