Pay It Forward Coffee: Flood Communities & Emergency Workers
Donation protected
The team at Alter Community Coffee have an off-grid coffee 4WD and we’re looking to use it to bless some people who are doing it tough in the aftermath of Cyclone Alfred and the storms and flooding that is hitting hard down south. There are a number of communities who have had significant flooding and loss of power, water and homes, and this will continue to increase over the coming days. We are going to drive around to some of these communities and visit Recovery Hubs and emergency service teams such as SES and QAS to provide free coffee as a show of support and love during this time.
This GoFundMe is to shout a coffee for someone in need in flood and storm affected areas and/or emergency service workers who are working hard around the clock during this time.
The situation is still unfolding so tomorrow we’ll do some local visits to emergency services around north Brisbane to start us off, and as flood zones become more clear we are looking to make some further ventures down the coast.
Our Alter team is volunteering to do this. We’ll keep a tally of the number of coffees we do to make sure that everyone’s donations go towards a coffee.
We’re still filling out itinerary for Monday and Tuesday so if anyone has connections to particular places that would appreciate a visit please let us know.
Thanks so much for partnering with us! We have been in conversation with some veteran community recovery team members and they are stoked with this idea and know it will be a huge blessing and kindness to those who have lost a lot, or those who are working hard to help others in need.
We’ll keep you posted via our social media to show you what we’re up to and how your contribution is making a difference.
Blessings!
