The Glasses Project is a student-led collaborative that was established in August 2022 to make eyeglasses for vision improvement accessible to those who need them most in developing countries. Eyeglasses are a tool for social and economic development, yet over 2 billion individuals worldwide who need this technology do not have it. Eyeglasses increase productivity, enhance learning, and increase well-being. Through a pending partnership with Vision Spring and Baylor Faculty, we aim to supply low-cost bifocals (15 USD/pair) to children and adults in African countries. These bifocals can correct nearsightedness and farsightedness between the power ranges of -3 and +3 (which covers the majority of pediatric and adult needs).

To achieve this goal, The Glasses Project is participating in the Waco Wild West 54-mile bike ride to fundraise for this cause! Please consider donating a dollar per mile or however much you consider. These funds will be used to purchase bifocals which will be distributed in Summer 2023. Your support will change the trajectory of a child’s life and reduce health risks associated with vision impairment.
