Buy me a new body

I'm a writer and critic living in Brooklyn. You might have read me in n+1, Boston Review, or the New York Times, or maybe you caught my piece on the Avital Ronell scandal, or my pans of Jill Soloway and Bret Easton Ellis. Or you might just follow me on Twitter lol.

Transition is fucking expensive. Thanks to my health insurance and these donations, I got vaginoplasty last November. All told, I paid only $9,000—a steal, really, and all covered by what I'd already raised here on GoFundMe. Unfortunately, even if I weren't likely to lose my insurance soon (due to my doctoral fellowship's expiration in May 2019), most other surgeries—including facial feminization surgery, hip augmentation surgery, vocal surgery—are considered "cosmetic" and wouldn't be covered by insurance anyway. 

So please, if you like my work and want to see more of it, please consider donating! $30k is a (low) educated guess, but if I get anywhere near it, that will be a huge help.
