Buy hedgehog homes for our new rescue facility

Ballumbie Hedgehog Rescue was set up in Dundee in Spring 2022 to rescue and rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned hedgehogs.
In our first year, we successfully released a dozen hedgehogs back to the wild in Dundee, Angus, Perthshire and North East Fife. We’ve treated and cared for many more but, as prey animals, hedgehogs will only appear in the open as a last resort, by which time it can be too late to save them.
The rescue is run entirely by volunteers. We’ve partnered with a local vets, one of us has been trained by Vale Wildlife Hospital, and we have a (retired) experienced rescuer we can call on for advice, as well as recently joining a network working to help get new rescues established.
We are a small rescue and our set-up is basic, using mostly donated items, but we are working on an upgrade to our facility that will give us an insulated space that will be easier to keep warm.
Local organisations, tradesmen, and the public, have very generously offered materials and time to help get this underway. We also need to kit out this new area so we can better house our hogs over years to come.
These new recovery units, designed specifically for hedgehogs, are a hygienic design with a partition between the areas for sleeping and eating. The units cost £195 each plus VAT plus delivery. Our target is to raise enough for 6 units.
