Buying my first power soccer Wheelchair
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Tyrese Alleyne-Davis, a proud native of Brooklyn, New York, living with cerebral palsy. Recently, I’ve discovered the exhilarating sport of power wheelchair soccer right here in the United States. Power wheelchair soccer has been played under the United States Power Soccer Association (USPSA) since its inception in 2006. However, globally, this amazing sport has been enjoyed since the 1970s. Surprisingly, throughout the existence of the USPSA, there has never been a team based in the heart of New York City. While there is a team representing Syracuse, New York, it’s a five-hour journey away and doesn’t allow players from within the city to participate.
A few weeks ago, my close friends Peyton and Michael decided to take matters into their own hands and start New York City’s first-ever power wheelchair soccer team: The New York Empire. As we embark on this journey, the team is still in its infancy stage, building a solid foundation for our future.
I am reaching out to the community through this GoFundMe campaign to ask for your support in funding my very first power wheelchair for soccer. The standard wheelchair brand for players is the Strike Force, which, without modifications, comes to approximately US$9,500. I am asking for a total amount of $14,000 to cover any additional modifications that may be needed for my new chair. I understand this is a significant request, especially considering the current economic climate. However, financing this power wheelchair will not only enable me to connect with a new community of friends but also provide me with the opportunity to engage in an adaptive sport that I am truly passionate about.
I deeply appreciate any contribution, no matter the amount, as every bit adds up. Thank you for taking the time to consider my GoFundMe campaign. I will ensure to keep everyone updated on my journey, providing images and screenshots for all who have contributed to witness the impact of your generosity.
Attached Are some physical photos of what a power Soccer Wheelchair looks like so everyone can have a better idea
also, I have included the New York Empire soccer team logo, and a team photo of the current members apart from myself
Thank you once again for your support.
