Mother fighting lung cancer
Donation protected
So hello all my family and friends. What a wonderful day it is. Bring on the weekend. So this will a long post, fair warning. As some of you know, April 5th I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer which metastasized to a couple lymph nodes and a bit to my liver. About 6 weeks ago, I started having really bad all over body pain. I was sent for another CT scan and bone scan. The lung tumours shrunk a little, but not enough, and the cancer metastasized throughout my bones. Especially my hips, femurs, spine, right scapula and left eye orbital. So they decided to stop the immunotherapy, and was basically told to go home and make myself comfortable. I wouldn’t hear of anything like it. I made a few suggestions and my oncologist agreed with zest. So I started chemo last week, I am currently sitting in the chemo chair receiving day 8 of my first cycle. I know, kind of confusing. I will be doing a second round of radiation within the next two weeks. Yesterday I had a port, or ivad installed just under my skin, to make med infusion easier and less painful. The pain in the bones is pretty bad, but I have an awesome palliative care team. They are working hard to make it more bearable. I did NOT ask how much “time” I had left. If I would have, I feel I would have been living only waiting for “that” day. This way, every day is a new one, and a wonderful blessing. Live each day to its fullest. It is a wonderful thing. I will try to keep everyone updated, but concentration is off sometimes. If you want to know anything, please don’t be shy to pm me. Prayers ARE being asked for if you’re in the mood for it, lol. God is good, have a wonderful day and a great weekend. I’ve included a couple photos, slightly graphic. All is good. Love you all. I almost forgot to say that my family is being soooo supportive, loving and caring. Going out of their way to make sure I’m happy and comfortable. I love you my family
here Is how my mother has effected just one of many individuals lives
This women, she has strong and courage written all over her. This mother sacrificed, and sacrificed over and over. She is like a second mom to me. No matter what she always had her door open, open To whoever needed a place and that still applies today. She puts aside her needs for anyone, even through her struggles she still persevered. She has the biggest heart and loves unconditionally. She is selfless and a fighter- fighter is what she has been her entire life. She is STRONG (I could repeat that over and over)
She was raised by amazing people, and she raised my person. I could thank her every day of my life for that. Thank you for kristy. Thank you for being that other mom for me. Thank you for always having your door open for me. Thank you for the countless trips to peace river for me. Thank you, Lynda. ❤️ xoxo
