CLEAN MIAMI BEACH
Donation protected

We are a passionate volunteer cleanup group in Miami Beach on a mission to keep our community and its natural habitat free of harmful pollutants, such as plastics and other trash. While we are fortunate to live in one of the world’s most beautiful places, it is our duty to create a safe environment for the diverse wildlife that makes Miami Beach so special and to preserve it for future generations.
Through carelessness or inconsideration, singe-use plastics (such as bags, cups and straws) are entering our fragile ecosystem. Without the clean-up efforts of the city and passionate volunteers like us, these plastics can remain in the environment for thousands of years. The dangers of plastic trash are enormous. Not only does it takes up to 1,000 years for a single plastic bag to decompose, these pollutants are extremely damaging to our fragile habitat and its diverse wildlife. Sea turtles, dolphins and our delicate coral reefs are all affected by plastic pollution. Aside from releasing harmful chemicals into the environment, plastics cause physical injury, suffocation and death to vast numbers of marine life, which often mistake it as food source and perish at an increasingly alarming rate.
Action on plastics is urgent. We need your support in helping us achieve our goal of keeping Miami Beach a safe place for our wildlife, residents and visitors.
