Help Support My Transplant And Recovery

Hello everyone in the GFM community. My name is Gabriella Martinelli. I'm 26 years old and August 26th, 2023 was the worst day of my life. I was rushed to not 1 but 2 hospitals and was told I shouldn't of survived past that night. I was as jaundiced as a sunflower. I couldn't remember anything or anyone, not even what year it was, and I didnt have the strength to even walk. They had to put me in the ICU after which I stayed in the hospital for over 2 weeks. They diagnosed me with Liver Disease and have been putting me on 24/7 feeds though my NG Tube. (Which is very difficult at times). However, the scariest part was being told if my blood tests, medications (pills and IV), constant blood transfusions, and procedures don't improve then I would have to be placed on the transplant list undergo a Liver Transplant. At 26 I did not expect any of this to be happening to me and it terrifies me honestly.

This unexpected health challenge has had a profound impact on my daily life. As a result of my medical condition, I have been unable to maintain employment being told i got the job but then later being turned down because of my condition is an awful feeling. It is further exacerbating my financial predicament. I'm a Medical Assistant and Assistant Teacher but the loss of income has made it increasingly difficult to cover essential expenses, such as rent, utilities, clothing, groceries, even simple.house hold items, vital medical treatments and medications. Despite my best efforts to navigate this horific challenging period, I find myself, my fiancé, and my family in need of a helping hand to regain my footing and rebuild my life back to the cheerful, always smiling, bubbly, outgoing Gabriella I once was and I want and need her back. I understand that times are tough for everyone, and any contribution you can make will be greatly appreciated.
