Once a Brickie, Always a Brickie

Donation protected
Steve Balash has been a pillar in the Hobart community; attending Hobart schools K-12, and returning to Hobart for the past 42 years as a teacher and coach. Through the duration of his teaching career as a Brickie, Coach Balash has coached high school football, wrestling and track a combined 126 different sport seasons; the most in the history of Hobart coaching. Throughout those 42 years, he has helped to produce a staggering 140 Sectional Championships, 46 Regional Championships, 15 Semi State Championships, and 8 State Championships.

Unfortunately, throughout the past year, Steve has been in the fight of his life with an unknown illness; doctors have no clue as to the cause. This unidentified disease is causing severe weight loss, neuropathy, sleep loss and other debilitating symptoms.

Just as Coach Balash has given countless hours both on the field and in the classroom, we would like to join forces in returning his unwavering kindness.

If you are able to help ease the financial burden with even a small donation, the raised money will help offset some of the medical bills. If you are unable to make a monetary contribution, please consider sharing this on your social media outlets and send prayers for the Balash family.

Let’s prove that in Hobart…Once a Brickie, Always a Brickie.
