Sometimes It Takes A Village

I’m humbly asking for help from anyone able and willing to help my oldest granddaughter, her young daughter and incoming second daughter (pictured in ultrasound). Although it seemed 2023 and beyond was going to be fantastic, with her second daughter being born on/around her firstborn’s 6th birthday in March 2024. Even though our small, but blended family is spread out 200 miles or more, we’ve been so very excited for the new addition! Then, as winter was really kicking into gear, with one storm after another- so, too, was the awful news: she was losing her job and healthcare at the height of the holidays (just before her own birthday, too), and with a lack of jobs for pregnant people who are so close to their due date, it’s been one issue after seemingly endless issues, to the point that our small group doesn’t know what else to do but to turn here for help.

Given that she’s got a lot on her plate nor does she need any additional stress, the funds from this campaign goes directly to her account! Malika has overcome more obstacles than one should have to, and I’m proud of her like any grandparent should and would be, because it’s hard to raise a family of your own so far from where your original home base was! Even in the face of decades of adversity- she’s an amazing mother and caring, compassionate human being. She’s been trying so hard, but she needs a village right now (and, truly, right now).

We're and praying for your generosity and compassion during this trying time so that momma and family can focus on welcoming a new life/baby into the world without stressing over the basic necessities. We're hoping to be able to make rent and utilities here- but reaching the goal means she’s able to get diapers and necessities for the incoming baby as well as her maternity photos and things that mean so very much to her.
