Help Becky Recover and Get Well

Becky has an upcoming surgery this November 17th to treat cancer in her lymph node. This will be the 5th surgery she has undergone in 4 years.

What happened and what happens now:

In 2018, Becky had a mastectomy, and in 2021 had surgeries followed by radiation to treat a recurrence of that cancer. A few weeks ago, doctors confirmed that a mass they thought was benign last year, was misdiagnosed. It’s cancerous and needs surgery. As you know, the past 2 years of the covid pandemic have made it very challenging for gig-workers to maintain income. Amidst this, Becky underwent surgery, hospitalizations, and treatment. Since moving through recovery, she has been struggling to work, not realizing her energy was extremely low because she still had the cancer. Becky has thrown everything she has into surviving the disease, recovering well, and then facing the disease again x2. The effect on her wellbeing and finances has been great. We’ve organized this much needed fundraiser to help her make it through this hard time.

Becky feels very hopeful and relieved that it is not worse. She is endlessly grateful for your support and care.

Funds raised will contribute to Becky’s expenses while she deals with this so she can rest and recover:

-Medications

-Recovery Support: prescribed physiotherapies to help nerve pain; to maintain

range of motion, nutritional support to tolerate new meds

-Regular mental health support
