Tammy’s medical expenses

**Update 8/19/2022-
We found out the results of our mom’s bone marrow biopsy yesterday and her initial diagnosis has advanced to AML(Acute Myeloid Leukemia). She will begin Chemotherapy next week and her regimen will consist of IV therapy as well as chemotherapy in pill form. The chemotherapy cycle is 28 days and she will have a bone marrow biopsy at the end of each cycle until her bone marrow counts are optimal to receive her bone marrow transplant. They will maintain her blood counts with platelet and blood infusions as needed.
We will still be going to Gainesville next week to start the process of finding the best bone marrow match for her.
Please pray for strength for her and for God to protect her as she will have a very low immune system to help her fight off germs.**
Hi my name is Kristen and my family and I are fundraising for my mom Tammy. In March my mom was diagnosed with MDS which is short for myodysplastic syndrome. MDS is essentially a blood cancer caused by having previous chemotherapy drugs. In a nutshell she had chemotherapy for her lymphoma and 5 years later (now) her bone marrow is not making cells the way that it should. The treatment for this is a bone marrow transplant(BMT). Unfortunately we have not yet even had her consultation for the BMT and since her diagnosis in March her bone marrow has struggled to keep up.
So now a little background on my mom. My mom is one of the kindest, happy, and most helpful people you could ever meet and she would never willingly ask for any help which is why I am asking for her. Time after time she has always put others’ needs over her own. The medical bills are already starting to impact her daily living and it’s only just starting. Today she was admitted to the hospital to receive some units of blood as well as some units of platelets to help her marrow get her back to a manageable level. Now this stay will more than likely be a few days but when it comes time for her transplant she’ll be admitted in Gainesville for a minimum of one month and up to 2 months she’ll stay. After the transplant she will need to live in the Gainesville area for 2-3 months.
All this to say as a retired grandmother she could use some additional help with her out of pocket costs due to her upcoming extended hospital stay as well as the current weekly intervention that she currently receives which is a costly retacrit shot to help her marrow make more red blood cells.
Anything anyone can spare will help her and take some of her burden and worrying about monetary issues away.
