Walker the Warrior

Creating this for Walker the Warrior. As most of you know Megan and Noah were due Aug 23rd with their beautiful boy Walker. On August 8th Megan went in for a routine NST. At that appointment her blood pressure was slightly elevated and so her OBGYN team made the call to admit her and start the process to get Walker earthside! Her water broke around 2pm on Wednesday the 9th and she proceeded to labor for almost 24 hours before finally being able to push around 2pm the following day. Megan pushed for an hour when sweet Walker came out. He was born with the umbilical cord wrapped tightly twice around his neck, not breathing and without a heartbeat. Immediately the medical team jumped into action and called a code white. They intubated Walker and then proceeded to work on him trying to get a heart beat for an additional 10 minutes. He is now fighting for his life in critical condition at CHOC Hospital in Orange County in the NICU.

Currently, Walker is intubated on a cooling blanket. He will be “cooled” for the next 3 days and then at that point they will attempt to rewarm him and then they will do an MRI to assess for brain function. He is paralyzed and sedated and hooked up to an EEG where they are monitoring for seizures. Due to the trauma and inflammation his body is in what they call DIC (disseminated intravascular coagulation) which essentially means his blood has lost the ability to form clots properly. He is receiving blood transfusions and the medical team is monitoring his labs closely.

At this stage Walker is still fighting for his life and despite all the odds being against him we serve a MIGHTY and good God who is absolutely capable of restoring life into this sweet boy and performing a MIRACLE.

Here is what you can pray for.

1. No more seizures

2. That his body regains the ability to clot and his labs normalize

3. That the rewarming process goes smoothly and Walker shows us signs of LIFE

4. Most importantly, his MRI shows total and complete brain healing. We know that Jesus CAN and He wants us to ask him so that’s what we’re doing. No brain damage, a miracle that not even doctors can explain.

Walker has spent the first few days of his life being surrounded by family and prayed over daily. Megan and Noah have never been stronger, sticking together and fighting for their little boy. Despite just giving birth Megan has been pumping to give Walker colostrum and hasn’t left his side. It’s a strength that truly can only come from Jesus. Noah hasn’t left his side either and is a rock for Megan, he already is the best dad I’ve ever seen.

We are asking for you to cover this family and this sweet boy in prayer and if you feel called to give financially our family would greatly appreciate it. This will help with the astronomical medical bills and give them some time off of work to be by Walkers side.

We already can’t wait for the miracle our God is about to do.
