bye bye boobies: donate to fran’s top surgery
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Fran and I’m a 28 year old non-binary events manager living in Cornwall, UK.
I began fundraising for my gender affirming surgery in early 2022, and at the same time was referred to my nearest gender identity clinic, which is 98 miles away. Over a year later, I received a letter confirming I was on the waiting list. To this date I have not received any further communication from the clinic or the NHS regarding an appointment.
It’s increasingly clear that I will have to wait many years to achieve gender affirming surgery through the NHS.
In my own experience as a non-binary person my breasts cause me a lot of gender dysphoria. I use a binder to compress my chest which makes me feel a lot happier and more confident in myself, but unfortunately prolonged use of it is causing pain in my ribs and it’s not a sustainable solution.
After carrying out further research and consulting with friends who have sought top surgery abroad, I’ve decided to also go down this route, as it’s a lot more financially viable and will enable me to get surgery faster.
I’m fundraising for my treatment through selling artwork, holding fundraising events, and asking for compassion and generosity from you.
The amount I’m fundraising for covers the following costs:
- top surgery - £3500
- flights to Poland - £250
- accommodation - £250
Total - £4000
(£1000 of the total will come from fundraising events, selling artwork, and my own money).
Having top surgery will finally enable me to be in a body that feels like it’s mine. I really hope you are able to donate, and please share this post if you can.
