Byron Bay Rec Fields Shed Facilities Upgrade

Hello to our wonderful Byron Bay community.

Byron Bay Rugby and Cricket clubs are in need of your help to get a long awaited and much needed project the funds needed to complete it.

If you have played Rugby or Cricket for Byron Bay or what watched either code play down at the recreational grounds on the corner of Marvel and Tennyson street you will you the building that we are trying to get upgraded.

For a long time men, women and children have not had a place to get changed in private, have a shower and even go to the toilet with the current facilities in place.

The sheds are hands down the worst in the whole of the Northern Rivers and both clubs have existed with these facilities and done the best they can.

We were lucky enough to get a government grant to get the sheds upgraded, with changing rooms, showers and toilets, an outside shaded area and public toilets for spectators.

We are so grateful for the help from the government but during these crazy Covid times its not quite enough to get the project completed.

The Covid restrictions have stopped both clubs from being able to generate income to help bridge the gap of the shortfall in funds, and the famous Byron Bay Rugby 7s event has just been cancelled for the second year running which was going to contribute massively to the funding of this project.

We are asking for the community to help us. Help keep the project alive and the sporting clubs running into next year and the future.

With more and more local children playing cricket and rugby we owe it to them to give them a new, safe and clean environment to learn the games and represent the town.

Please give some dollars to this project so you can spend a penny at the rec fields in the future.
