Help us Save Our Home

Hello, my name is Byron I am asking for help. To be perfectly honest and blunt with all of you, I have not been very good with money for a long time and it has caught up to me in a terrible way. A few days ago, I received a call from my bank’s foreclosure attorney telling me that they are considering starting foreclosure on my family home.

It wasn't always this way.

Now I am in a desperate race to save our family home. My wife and I along with our 3 children have lived here for the past 16 years. It is our ‘home’ with all the memories and experiences. There are a lot of excuses I could give for how I got into this situation, but it boils down to a combination of low income and depression over the last 5 or so years that caused me to bring our family into the situation it is in now.

The biggest problem wasn't overspending because we don't own credit cards or have any other loans. We always paid with the money we had, we just never earned enough to get ahead. I knew being a self employed artist wasn’t going to be bringing in the millions but it’s what I love to do and love to see people enjoy my artwork.

Things began to change when I started selling my artwork as digital files in early 2021. It felt like things were starting to get better as I was finally able to provide a few of the things that I have always tried to provide, but found very difficult to do. It was my hope the work I was doing would pay off in time, but the time is now and I'm still grinding, hoping for the best.

I am sorry that I have to ask for help, but this is a last resort for me and my family.

I need to raise 24,000 CAD to pay off my house’s property taxes (which is roughly $18,000 USD). I know not everyone has the means to help me or would even want to and that is okay and I understand.
