OUR STORY
Alex Bowman (grade 12) and Kate Waddel (grade 10) are a VEX Robotics team from Cumberland, British Columbia, Canada called Byte Me Robotics. They have just earned a spot to represent Canada and the Comox Valley at the VEX Robotics World Championships in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a huge achievement and a great honour. Alex and Kate have put thousands of hours creating and programming their robot to become one of the best robots in British Columbia. The VEX Robotics World Championships attracts teams from all over the globe - from Asia, Europe, South America, the Middle East and many other regions. This year the games are going to be held from April 19th through to the 22nd.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELPThe World Championships are just around the corner so there isn't much time to fundraise. Furthermore, sending the team and their robot to the games in Louisville, Kentucky is quite expensive. For example, registration for the competition alone is $850 (US) per team, and transportation for the team and their robot is estimated to cost at least $1500 per person. That's why Byte Me Robotics has created this gofundme page. It's important to note here that Byte Me Robotics is not a school team, and as such, they do not receive any help from school districts or other organizations. Therefore, one hundred percent of the money they raise through this gofundme page will be used to help the Byte Me Robotics team make it to the World Championships.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Please consider donating to Alex and Kate's gofundme page. Even a small amount helps, and it also shows Alex and Kate that many people are rooting for them.
