BYU Student Tragic Incident: Funeral Fund
Donation protected
****THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS DONATED. THE FUNDS HAVE NOW BEEN TRANSFERRED TO THE FAMILY AND THIS CAMPAIGN HAS ENDED****
We are raising funds for the family affected by the tragedy that occurred on BYU campus involving a 19-year-old student falling four stories in the Tanner building. On Wednesday, December 5th, it was confirmed that the student has passed away while in the hospital.
100% of all proceeds will go to the family to help with hospital bills and funeral services.
Our hearts go out to those affected. While we know that no amount of money can undo the trauma being experienced by our community and those close to this young woman, it is our hope that these funds will in some way help ease the financial burdens that have been incurred.
Please donate what you can and share this with everyone you know.
$10,000 is our goal but we know we can do even better with the love and support of our school and community. Thank you for your support.
If you or someone you love is struggling with thoughts of suicide, please call the National Prevention Suicide Hotline: 1-800-273-8255 and visit them for additional resources at https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/
FOR STUDENTS:
"Counseling resources are available on campus for students. BYU Counseling and Psychological Services (1500 WSC) offers walk-in services to students until 4:15 p.m. each day. After hours, BYU Counseling has a staff member on-call that can be reached by calling University Police at [phone redacted]."
A NOTE ABOUT FUNDING BEING TRANSFERRED TO THE FAMILY:
Naturally, we are receiving questions about how funding will be handled properly. We are in contact with the family and are using GoFundMe's system for having a beneficiary withdraw the funds. To understand more about how this works, Click HERE. Given the confidential nature of this campaign, we are working closely with GoFundMe's "Trust & Safety Team" to verify that the family is connected for withdrawals. If you have specific questions or concerns regarding this campaign or the transfer of funds, please contact GoFundMe's Trust & Safety Team:

(Note: Another campaign was started by someone else earlier in the week for the same cause. For those who have donated to that campaign, those funds will also be donated to the family)
