Help Bring My Brother Home/Funeral
It's with an extremely broken heart that I announce the unexpected death of my only brother, Michael Corby. Michael passed away on December 29th while on vacation, and I'm hoping and praying for your assistance to help get him home so we can lay him to rest.
Michael was one of the most incredible people I've known, and he meant so much to everyone whose lives he touched. He was one of those guys who could make you smile no matter what mood you were in. He was protective, hard-working, fun and funny....and did his best to let the people he loved know how much they meant to him.
He wasn't afraid to show his love and that was the most evident in his relationship with me, his nephew Collin, and our mom. My son Collin looked up to his uncle, and his uncle doted on him. They were buddies, often playing together or just hanging out. Our mom was one of the most special women in his life, and even after he moved out of state for work, he FaceTimed with her and visited when he can.
Michael was passionate about hockey, having played with our dad and on teams most of his young life. He loved music and movies, and was excited as he was taking his next step in his career and was just certified in crane operation. While family brought him to Wisconsin and work pulled him to Texas, his heart was always in his hometown of Redlands, California.
His being gone leaves a huge hole in our hearts and lives, and in the lives of all the people he knew. We were not prepared at all to say goodbye, and we were not financially prepared for this either.
We are attempting to raise money to have my brother's body brought home and to have a funeral. It's sadly very expensive to do, and we're overwhelmed. If you can help, please do. Any amount can help us get that much closer to saying our goodbyes....or saying, "I'll see you again someday." Please help us with some of the financial burden, and please share this if you would.
