Standards of Care Translations Fund 2014

Help us meet our CHALLENGE GRANT translation fund goal!!!

     The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care (SOC) for the Health of Transsexual, Transgender, and Gender-Nonconforming People, Version 7, is a crucial, freely available 120-page document that facilitates access to basic health care and transition-specific health care for those who need this care worldwide. Translating the SOC into many languages helps educate providers, health ministers, clinic administrators, and transsexual, transgender, and gender-nonconforming people, plus their families and allies.

     Transgender people, their providers, and their allies have successfully used these Standards of Care to validate access to needed medical care and to guide providers in many countries beyond Europe and North America, but even wider distribution is needed if we are to improve transgender health everywhere.

     The $10,000.00 we raise here will be matched by a generous translation fund grant from the Gender Information Research & Education Society (GIRES) of the UK, to enable us to compensate our translators. But we must raise our share first!! You can help!!!

     Donors who are US tax payers are entitled to claim a charitable donation for the amount contributed. Donors outside the US should check with your tax advisors regarding any possible tax implications. WPATH is a registered charitable organization; you will receive a receipt for the amount of your donation.
