Family displaced by apartment fire
Donation protected
Yesterday morning, I was informed immediately that there was a fire at my family’s apartment. As soon as I arrived, I was reunited with one of our three guinea pigs, along with my sister and dad. My dad busted the window open right away before I arrived and firefighters helped rescue them out safely. I was informed shortly after that the firefighters had heard wheeking and that they were going to go in during the active fire and do an apartment sweep for my other two babies. They were thankfully brought out alive. My dad and sister were sent to the hospital but they are doing fine now. I have the guinea pigs a temporary housing situation, but my parents’ cash savings got burned in the fire. When we had our first apartment fire in 2009, the red cross helped us out with 2 weeks of a hotel to help get us off our feet. They now only give $500 in cash, which is only enough money for food temporarily. If anyone is able to help out in any way, it would be forever appreciated. All funds will be going towards our housing situation, either a hotel or a down payment on a new apartment. Whatever we can find soonest. My family is now temporarily staying at my older sisters house. Thank you so much to everyone who’s already helped and supported us through such a hard time in our lives. And thank you so much to anyone else who chooses to.
