C Street Salon and Spa - the Augustine Family Needs Help
C Street Salon and Spa is a small, family business on Caroline Street in Fredericksburg, VA, opened seven years ago by John and Bev Augustine, along with their daughters, Jan and Jill. Many small, service-centered businesses have been financially devastated by the pandemic, and C Street has been no exception. But that is only a part of the reason for their need.
John has battled Type 1 Diabetes a good portion of his life. Recently a “perfect storm” of potentially life-threatening diabetes complications sent him to the ICU for over a week. The situation was dire, but he fortunately improved enough to go home under Bev’s constant care. Rehabilitation is going to take time and, of course, expense.
The already drastically diminished income of the salon due to covid has now been further cut in half due to only two of the four being available to work. With their parents at home, Jan and Jill are working diligently to keep the salon going. But hard work is not always enough.
During its seven years, C Street Salon and Spa has became a valued part of Caroline Street’s marketplace. These are the kind of people who always think of others and support their community. It is not uncommon for them to go out of their way for a client or charity, such as providing services safely to clients who cannot leave their homes (especially during the pandemic), sponsoring a cut-a-thon event to provide funds for a needy charity, donating their time doing hair at a women’s shelter, and many more. NOW THEY NEED YOUR HELP! The Augustines have given so much of their time and talents to serve the people and causes of their community. Surely we can give something back!
