Campaign for TOTTENHAM COMMUNITY SPORTS CENTRE

Serving the community for over 50 years and probably the oldest sports centre in London, 2020 sees Tottenham Community Sports Centre in its 51st year still standing strong.  However, in these uncertain and challenging times with lack of funding  and many of our clubs unable to return safely under the socially distanced guidelines, the charity is struggling and needs help!

My name is Clayre and I have been a Trustee for the past four years, a Kickboxing instructor at the centre since 2011 and initially started using the centre back in 1996 when I played Skaterhockey for the Enforcers team.  Over the 24 years I have seen TCSC help people from all walks of life with Job Fairs, the Kumon school and a range of affordable programmes.  The centre has up to 80 clubs that offer a variety of sporting activities for both the young and old.  There are a number of martial arts classes - Muay thai, Karate, Kickboxing, Escrima, Boxing as well as Basketball, Badminton, Football, Rollerskating and Birthday parties ... the list is endless.

Keeping up the maintenance of an ageing building that requires a substantial amount of money to refurbish and upgrade is a paramount task and we not only need help in the areas below but will eventually need to SAVE our centre if clubs do not return.

* renewal of our emergency lighting system
* the need for new and green heating/lighting systems
* new sports equipment
* roof repairs

Due to the current government guidelines and little staff on the ground it has been hard for the centre to operate as normal and accommodate ‘Meals for the homeless’, Quiz and Comedy nights, rollerskating for the children, combat/contact sports and so much more that the centre can provide.

Kevin Lincoln (Secy to Trustees), myself and other Trustees, Malcolm Springthorpe and Derek Lewis remained positive in September, making all the necessary improvements/Covid-19 changes and creating a new garden fountain and flower bed to welcome back all to the centre, as well as making a video to share with our members and the community :

but one month on we admit it, we need your help!

Just imagine 49 more years, Tottenham Community Sports Centre could be 100 years old… thanks to YOU!

Now that you've read about who we are and our situation, we really hope that you can help... a donation, be it a small or large amount will make a difference.   However we understand that not everyone is able to contribute to our cause financially.  If you are unable to help in this way then we would appreciate it if you would simply share the link to this page with someone who may be able to.

We appreciate the time you have taken to read our story, and we thank you in advance for sharing this page with your friends and family.
