Channel Cycling Challenge for SYS
Donation protected
We have two lovely ladies- Montse Batchelor and Linda Duckering- volunteering to raise funds for Switch Youth Services by completing The Channel Cycling Challenge- 50 miles on July 3rd! We are very fortunate for us to be chosen as their charity.
Switch Youth Services is a charity based in Maidstone town centre but works with young people around Kent. They have a youth centre based on the high street in Maidstone where young people are able to go on weekdays to chill out with friends, play pool or PlayStation. Switch also offers programmes including Crime Diversion, Anger management, Healthy Relationships and Knife Crime Awareness to small groups in schools and 1-2-1s. We often have 1-2-1's referred to us by other local services. As well as these services, Switch operates an Outreach Programme every Friday night in the town centre- the purpose of this is to engage difficult to reach young people, help build relationships with them and be able to signpost them to local services that they need.
With the money Montse and Linda raise, we hope to engage the young people we work with in pro-social activities and positively impact their lives.
