Matthew's Recovery

Hello, my name is Heather Carpenter and I am fundraising for my cousin, Matthew. Matthew is a free-spirited, 21-year-old man. He's a hard worker, athletic, and an artist. His sense of humor can make anyone laugh. Recently, Matthew fell sick with what seemed like a head cold. Within days he was in the hospital fighting for his life.

Matthew has been diagnosed with Covid-19 and Meningitis. Due to these illnesses, Matthew developed an infection in his brain. This led to Matthew needing life-saving brain surgery. Currently, Matthew is in recovery. He cannot speak yet or swallow on his own. However, he has made tremendous progress. He is moving his limbs, opening his eyes, and he can look around. There is a long road before Matthew is better, but he is strong and a fighter.

The money raised will go to Annmarie Carpenter, Matthew's mother. This money will help cover Matthew's medical bills and miscellaneous bills (rent, car, etc.) while he recovers.
