In memory of Julie Cook

Donation protected
Unfortunately as you all may know, We lost our beloved mum Julie, unexpectedly on the 25th September at her home. Leaving behind her 6 children, 12 grandchildren and her pug Chloe.

Our mums wish was for her body to be donated to medical science in Cambridgeshire this was always her end goal. We have tried to carry out mums wishes, however they are unable to accept mums body as a donation due to her unexpectedly passing as a post mortem needs to be carried out. As you can imagine we are all truly devastated that we are unable to fulfill her wish. Mum wanted to give back to the nhs after working for them for 20+ years that’s why she never wanted a funeral service as she never wanted to put the strain on us and didn’t want us to be hurting and organising a funeral.

Our mum has always suffered with ill health for many of years but always fought back so hard. She had severe diabetes type 1, over come breast cancer and had to have a mastectomy, she became incredibly ill with infections that led to multiple amputations of the toes. Which then led her to go on life support due to getting sepsis’s and having a stroke. Mum survived all of this however she had to be medically retired from her nhs job in mental health and cancer wards which she absolutely loved. Mum went in to blue bird lodge rehabilitation, she learnt to walk again and then moved in to her bungalow with her rescue dog Chloe that become her soulmate and saviour . She got mum through her dark days .

This year mum made massive of progress of getting her life back on track and started to do more. She loved bingo, meeting up with friends love seeing her grandchildren and having days out with them. She recently just passed her level 1 British sign language course and was now preparing to start her level 2 we were all in the process of planning a family holiday next year which we are still hoping to do in memory of mum. She recently told us how excited she was about starting as a volunteer at the soup kitchen which was Ment to start on the 1st of October she was so happy to be able to give back to the community as she really did miss being able to work.

We are all asking kindly for your help please. Any donation would be hugely appreciated to help towards mums funeral costs to help ease the struggle from her 6 children as we are unable to fulfil mums wishes to donate mums body to medical science. We never expected to lose our mum at the young age of 57. We know times are hard for everyone. We would appreciate any little help thank you.we know mum never wanted a big funeral so we want to be able to give her a quiet and intimate send of that she deserves.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Our mum will be truly missed.
