Sophia's Care
Tax deductible
Precious Sophia (click on her name to see her Facebook album, has been in our program since March of 2023. She was rescued from an over-crowed shelter in southern Illinois. She came into our program struggling with heart worms, Lyme disease and low thyroid.
I thought for sure she would find a Foster to Adopt home quickly, but maybe with the health complications, too much for a new family. She's been with a great foster mom this past year in Minnesota, but we decided to bring her back to the Chicago suburbs because she is due for new blood work and I also want to get a chest x-ray to look at her heart. She will also be spayed in April.
Sophia is really loving her new foster home in Arlington Heights and she and the resident senior Beagle have become friends. There are lots of kids to give her pets and her foster dad also loves a good snuggle.
We sure could use some donations to help with Sophia's vetting. We are so hopeful that she will have a negative heartworm test and that her thyroid values are normal. We also hope that her chest x-ray will show a normal happy Beagle heart. Any donation no matter what size would be appreciated for her care.
Illinois Birddog Rescue has helped rescue, rehabilitate and rehome more than 1500 homeless English Pointers, Setters, Beagles, Pit bulls and mixed breeds of all kinds and some very special kitties. We also have quite a small spot for homeless senior dogs and dogs with additional health complications.
