Helping my dad

Hello, my name is Rebekah. I'm trying to help my dad. He is an amazing person. As a child he was and still is one of my heros. But he is currently struggling with his health. My dad, Augie( August Bradshaw), was diagnosed with CMT (Charcot Marie tooth). Charcot-Marie-Tooth is a degenerative nerve disease that usually appears in adolescence or early adulthood. It has a range of symptoms. My dad has suffered most of his adult life with this before it was diagnosed. See, my dad is a hard-working man. He used to stand on his feet for 12 or more hours a day to provide for us as a house painter. Not one to complain because he was providing for his family. He had surgery to try and repair the damage caused by this nerve disease. It worked for a little while, gave him about a decade of use of his feet. Now he has pain and can barely stand on his feet for the time it takes to do his job. Along with disease, my dad is suffering from some unknown aliment. In other words, my dad's body is turning against him. He was informed by the doctor that he could not continue working due to the CMT. My dad is slowly losing his motor functions, he loses his balance and falls at minimum once a month. These are the bad falls, not the little ones he is able to catch. He is currently out of work while waiting to hear back from the government for his SSI. Which could take a year or more. And without said income, my dad will become homeless, and I for one cannot see him without a home. Anything helps him stay where he is.
