Help Bonny Bunda Recover after Fire & Fraud
Donation protected
In May of 2022, Bonny encountered the devastating loss of her house of 23 years, her two beautiful young German Shepherd companions (Niah & Rambo) as well as her adorable African Grey Parrots (Shoo & Cujo). She lost everything, only had the clothes on her back. After the fire, she worked with her insurance company to help start the process of moving forward towards rebuilding for the future and healing from the pain.
With the support of the community and her clients, Bonny was able to get back on her feet and purchase the bare minimum (new clothes, bedding, etc.). She was working to rebuild, hiring a reputable company to support her through the process of demolition & rebuild in July of 2022. Highbridge Construction was hired and completed the demolition in September 2022. Bonny provided the mandatory deposit of 30% for Highbridge to begin the building process. From then on, it went downhill.
From unanswered calls and emails to fabricated updates and being strung along, she truly believed what she was being told, that there were true delays. On February 6th, Bonny was gutted to find out that Highbridge was in the process of Bankruptcy Insolvency, and had not notified any of their clients regarding this. Many voicemails remain unanswered from Highbridge as she had learned the news through a previous employee.
The contract Bonny had signed indicated the work and the deposit was covered by Tarion Warranty, but as she has found out, was not registered by the company within 24 hours as required. This was the last chance for Bonny to recover nearly $230,000 of a deposit to rebuild her home.
The goal of this GoFundMe is to raise the money that Bonny lost, which is needed to build her new home. Despite Bonny being homeless, Bonny remains hopeful.
