Solar Panels for Rwandan School

Donation protected
Hi there,

I am a returned Peace Corps Volunteer now living in California.  Last year I returned home after serving for two years in Rwanda.  While there I made many bonds and friendships that I have kept while back at home.

Being back in the U.S. I see everyday the abundance we have, and I know first hand now that much of the rest of the world doesn't have nearly the same standard of living.

I am trying to raise money to provide solar panels for the school I taught at in Rwanda.  The school has gotten some computers through grants, but because a very low and shaky power suppy is only able to use them about half of the year, and even then not all at one time because there simply isn't enough power from the village's small old hydroelectric system.  In the picture my former colleague, Isaac, the computer science teacher, poses in the computer lab.

Rwanda is a small landlock country that is hoping IT can be a way to move it's economy forward.  A small donation can help the roughly 500 students at this school gain access to the machine's necesary to move forward with this goal.  All of the money will go directly towards purchasing the solar panels, the Rwandans themselves will install them.

No donation is too big or small.  These solar panels could truly help bring the world to this small rural school through the power of technology!
