Henry is out of surgery. The surgeon walked towards us with his thumbs up. He said everything went as planned, no surprises. They did end up taking the adrenal gland based on where it was to the kidney.
The tumor was very large. He said about the size of a softball. About 4-5 times the size of a normal kidney. Hard to believe something that size was in our little guy.
We will get to see Henry soon as he is currently being moved into recovery. They do feel it’s best he is moved to the surgical floor so they can monitor him properly.
Pathology should be back in about a week. Once back we will meet with the oncology team to determine his treatment plan.
Hey everyone,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to share a bit about what our little superhero, Henry, is going through.
After feeling a lump on his belly, doctors found a tumor on his right kidney.
The next step in Henry's journey is surgery at Boston Children's on Monday, December 18th to remove his kidney. Afterward, he'll be staying in the hospital for 7-10 days.
Then the road ahead will include chemotherapy, but the specifics depend on what they discover while studying the tumor post-removal.
We're creating this GoFundMe page to support Henry and his family during this challenging time. The funds will go towards medical expenses, stay-at-home necessities, and anything else that might come up on this journey.
Your love, support, and any contribution you can make mean the world to us. Let's come together to help Henry and his family focus on what matters most – his health and happiness.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
